Why I am Honored to be Nominated for Charleston’s Marketer of the Year
Someone nominated me for the Charleston American Marketing Association Marketer of the Year Award. I have no idea who (will you please reveal yourself so I can thank you?), and it took me by complete surprise when I found out yesterday morning via Twitter of all places. As I read the list of all those who have been nominated, I was astounded by the calibre of the people, and honored to be included. Most of the people on the list, some of whom I know personally, others whom I know peripherally and are familiar with their work, represent a New Charleston. A Charleston that doesn’t take ‘no’ for an answer. A Charleston that is not afraid to step outside the bounds of what has been done in the past, and a Charleston that continually, passionately, creates the New.
So take a look at the list and cast your vote, for me or for any of the stellar people on there.
I voted for Caroline Nuttall, a woman who moved here from Hollywood a few years ago and created CHARLIE, an online magazine that recognizes the forward-thinking people and things that are shaping the future of Charleston. The CHARLIE monthly calendar has a huge fan base as it lists unique happenings around town. Perhaps I also voted for her because she used a fantastic photo of a woman on a bike to launch her premiere issue. And all ya’ll know just how I feel about that…;)
