Just a block shy of the gorgeous Hampton Park, this home at 436 1/2 Huger Street is totally unique because it is of the Charleston Single style. While you’ll find that architecture all over the place south of the Crosstown, it is rare in this area because it was developed when the trends in Charleston architecture had changed. The owners of this Huger Street home have restored it over the past several years, pouring their hearts and over $120,000 into it, preserving countless historic details. Even the new tabby driveway with its brick columns and custom iron gate, show the attention my clients paid to the home.

So what are my favorite things about this house? The back part of the first floor (kitchen, dining area and sunroom) with an incredible number of windows, and the multiple outdoor spaces (ya’ll know I love the outdoors!). Not only does it have double piazzas, but also it has a covered back porch (which I might screen in) a brick patio and a lovely landscaped yard. The possibilities for relaxing and entertaining al fresco are endless!
It’s a 3BR and 2BA, about 1850 square feet, with high ceilings and hardwood floors. So if you’d like to see more, play the video below for a ‘walkthrough’ of sorts. There are lots of pretty photos. (And be sure to note the fun we had with the blue hydrangeas 😉 ).
